D’Angelo Set To Perform On TV For First Time In Years

Nearly a month after his surprise album, Black Messiah, arrived, D’Angelo is keeping up with the tricks as it was announced today (January 20) that the singer will grace Saturday Night Live’s stage later this month on January 31st for his first televised performance in years.

If you haven’t been keeping up to date with the R&B legend’s whereabouts, he released his first album in 14 years this past December. The last time D’Angelo performed on television was way back in 2012, and this time he’ll be joined by backing band The Vanguard.

Hosting the evening’s show will be Golden Globe-winner and Oscar-nominee J.K. Simmons, who himself has recently received critical recognition for his work in “Whiplash.” Nonetheless, it’s probably safe to say that D’Angelo will steal most of the spotlight in this one.
