MONDAY 10/27

Lets keep it 100
The state of R&B is in really bad shape, most of all the mainstream outlets are now ran by younger people who know very little about true R&B, and don’t really care, this is forcing artist to stop doing what they love, stop writing great songs, stop singing and wanting to be rappers,or at least do rapper like things,
When I post about new music, most of the comments I get are,jd bring back that good shit, instead of all this BS on the radio,
With that being said,All of you that feel this way,all of you that love great music,I ain’t to proud to beg lol,I’m begging you, pls pick up this new JE album, and help us restore the feeling, 10/27

  1. I remember power house singers such as Luther Vandross, Peabo Bryson, and Freddie Jackson. Montell Jordan was a great songwriter and singer but they made him focus on hip hop inspired songs which eventually put him in a box. R& B really is different but not in a good way.

  2. I’ve got mines pre-ordered, i was expecting this on my birthday, along with the new Boyz II Men album that got pushed back as well, a few more weeks……

  3. Music will always matter.. The feel and meaning in r & b has been overlooked far too long and those that truly understand it need to support it… Yearning for RHYTHM and SMOOTH is how I move, cause MUSIC MATTERS.

  4. Real R&B is a dying breed… most of the artists that are considered R&B feel the need to go POP to stay relevant. I understand the business of it all but do producers, sonq-writers and artists realize there is still a huge demographic out here longing for good music to be made again! I’m 36 yrs old, and can’t stand to listen to the radio today. I listen to my iPod of all the greatest artists I consider to be lost today. I could go on for days about all the artisits and groups that have fallen since the 90’s & early 2000’s. JD can you please tap into genius mind and convince these artists there is still a fan base wanting the R&B of the 80’s & 90’s.

  5. @JD I forgot to ask you about the October 27 release date: normally albums drop on Tuesdays in stores. Did you pick Monday to stand apart from the expected drop date?

  6. Great album. Definitely some records on here that will be joining the JE classics
