Atlanta’s own, Jermaine Dupri, stopped by our office with his boy Royce Rizzy to talk about a bunch of different topics, including his sneaker game. JD, who showed up rocking the classic ‘DMP’ 7s, let us know that although he is a true sneaker connoisseur, it’s strictly Js when it comes to his footwear.
Jermaine says he has been all-in on the Jordan Brand movement since the early 90s, and his OG collection of Jordans reflects that statement. He’s not above rocking retros, but he notes the quality is no where close to what it once was. Luckily, Jordan Brand is remastering their lineup for 2015.
We also asked JD what he would like to accomplish if he ever collaborated on a sneaker with JB, and he let us know that a ‘Blackout’ Air Jordan 11 complete with matte black finishes would be his first move.
