Pacers Coach Frank Vogel To Coach East All-Stars

Indiana Pacers head coach Frank Vogel will coach the East All-Stars in 2014 NBA All-Star Game, the league announced Tuesday.

Vogel has led the Pacers are 30-7 this season and they are three games ahead of the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference standings.

The West All-Star coach will be determined by the best record in the conference through games played on Feb. 2.

Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra and San Antonio’s Gregg Popovich coached last year’s All-Star Game, won by the West, 143-138, making them ineligible to coach this year’s game.

The All-Star Game will take place February 16 at the New Orleans Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Voting for the players ends on Jan. 20, and starters will be announced Jan. 23. Reserves will be announced on Jan. 30.  Pacers forward Paul George has the second-highest vote total in the Eastern Conference through the third round of returns announced by the league.
