The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG 4Matic ($TBA) seems to have improved on nearly every aspect of its predecessor — weight, power, handling, and aesthetics. For starters, it’s 220 pounds lighter, thanks in part to aluminum construction and alloy wheels. The massive twin-turbo, 5.5-liter V8 produces significantly more horsepower at 577, and torque at 590 lb-ft, through a seven-speed automatic transmission, helping propel it from 0-60 in just 3.9 seconds. Adaptive suspension and ceramic brakes give the all-wheel-drive system all the help it needs to corner and stop, while more angular side panels and a larger grill set it apart visually from last year’s model.
