Jermaine Dupri (@Mr_Dupri) On Best In Class Service

In our digitally infused world, more and more companies seem to opt for the click over the human touch. At PSFK, we believe that personal service still is critical in creating a differentiated experience. To investigate this theme further, we’re running a series of interviews with experts. We asked music mogul Jermaine Dupri to make a list for us of five great service experiences he cherishes. Jermaine Dupri is a Grammy award winning producer, artist, writer, and CEO of So So Def Recordings and Global 14. Here are Jermaine’s five favorite examples of excellent service:

Emirates Air, Dubai

Emirates Air delivers an experience, not just a flight – and the entire experience is first class. Emirates Air provided me a personal host who escorted me from the lounge to the plane. All I had to do was sit down in my seat. The First Class section on Emirates Air service to Dubai is like no other. You basically have your own little condo in the sky, which comes with a refrigerator and something like a 25-inch screen TV.

The Mansion at MGM Grand, Las Vegas

The Mansion at MGM Grand in Las Vegas is the hotel for all the MGM Grand high rollers, and the people make you feel like you have your own home on the Vegas Strip. The personal touch starts the moment you arrive in Vegas when a host greets you and drives you to the hotel in either a Rolls-Royce Phantom or a Maybach. At the hotel, you enjoy a staff on 24-hour call – the best kind of home on the Strip.

Porsche

Of every sports car you can have – including Lamborghini, Ferrari, or Bentley — the most comfortable to me is the Porsche. The more you drive a Porsche, the more a Porsche learns your body.

Cartier

My favorite jewelry store is Cartier. Cartier speaks so many different languages: nice watch, fabulous watch, and incredible watch. In each of my ears right now, I am wearing two 5-carat yellow Cartier diamonds, for which I paid $300,000. I have so many Cartier pieces, it’s hard to know which is my favorite. But humanity is at the core of Cartier. This is an organization that once reached out to victims of Hurricane Katrina by working with me to benefit the Hurricane Relief Fund. As part of the effort, Cartier created Jermaine Dupri eyewear and hosted a benefit with me.

Sydney

The entire city of Sydney is a memorable experience. Some day, I see myself getting a place to live there. It’s a city that has everything all in one place: culture, fine tastes, nightlife, the beach, and beautiful women. And Sydney is still growing. It feels very undiscovered.

Thanks Jermaine!
