Marilyn Youngkin and her husband Bill are busy preparing what they call a big Texas breakfast.
Youngkin said, “He actually picks the fruit and makes the jelly.”
That means, homemade jelly–scrambled eggs, quail and of course a Texas-sized helping of biscuits and gravy.
Because of their daughter Katie’s job as an event planner, and a 14 city tour, a celebrity rolled into town.
Jermaine Dupri said, “It feels like a real neighborhood, like you came to a neighborhood, like a neighborhood you see on T.V…like, wow, I’ve never been to one of those before.”
Marilyn said, “Hi Jermaine! How are you?”
Record producer-rapper-songwriter Jermaine Dupri made a pit stop in Bryan during his promotional tour with Crown Royal.
“It’s probably the same demographic as my neighborhood, but I don’t have the neighbors don’t come over to my house and stuff like that, it’s a little different,” Dupri said.
Dupri is traveling to 14 cities in 14 days, hosting parties for members of his social media website, global 14.com
“I created a spot that’s made for people that have the same interest as me,” Dupri added.
That means anything from music to fashion, art and traveling.
“Matter of fact, you can, you know, hit me to something new and that I could be interested in and not even know about,” Dupri said. “I talk to people. I comment on things that they post. I regulate the site so there’s no stupidness going on. ”

Youngkin said, “I looked up and I’m like, oh, you’re taking a picture of me while I’m taking a picture of you!”
She added, “He just makes you forget he’s so famous because he’s so real!”
This was Jermaine Dupri’s first visit to Bryan-College Station.
He expects to make the promotional tour an annual event.
The last three stops are in Houston tonight, then New Orleans and the promotion tour finishes in Miami.
