HERE COMES ‘SANTA’: Mariah Carey logs the highest debut among her 29 career Adult Contemporary chart entries, as “Oh Santa!” dashes in at No. 12.
The start is the chart’s highest since deSoL bowed at No. 6 with “Little Drummer Boy” the week of Dec. 17, 2005.
Carey’s previous loftiest start belonged to “Dreamlover,” which began at No. 17 in 1993.
“Oh Santa!,” which introduces Carey’s second holiday album, “Merry Christmas II You,” has already topped Billboard’s Holiday Digital Songs chart.
