  3. You know I already wrote my review so head on over to http://www.hollywoodliveandwork.com. And leave me a comment will ya? Show me some blog love? LOL Anyhoo I enjoyed it too. Jaden’s got that “it” factor. It appears he definitely put in work with the training AND the acting.

What did your mini-me think of the movie! She’s around his age right or older? And could you explain what you meant about this one attracting a different crowd? Kung Fu, Karate…I remember as a kid young boys watching the karate or Kung Fu movies and damn near breaking their necks trying to emulate what they saw, but it kinda all looks the same to me. So enlighten a sista.

  4. It’s not a bad movie but definitely not something I’d recommend to anyone from my generation who saw the original. It brings nothing new. If you’re gonna do a remake, it’s gonna work in one of two ways, either because it’s meant for a new generation or because you bring a twist to it (The New Star Trek as an example). This Karate kid brings no twists so it’s for a new generation. Although not a bad movie, the pacing of it was much slower than the original and I would be hard pressed to suggest it for kids under a certain age who may get bored fast.

Lastly, why call it “The Karate Kid” if it’s about Kung Fu?!? That’s not paying hommage, that’s yet another lame attempt by Hollywood to cash in on something that worked in the past. They probably wanted to go for a big name to play the “Mr Miyagi” part and went with Jackie Chan. Problem is Chan is Chinese, not Japanse. Therefore the movie needed to be about Kung Fu. But hey, can’t miss out on drawing people in based on the original so let’s name it the Karate kid even tho it there’s no karate in it… Lame.
