IVERSON A CLIPPER?

THIS IS HURTING MY HEART TO SEE, IVERSON CAN’T BE GOIN TO A TEAM THAT NEVER COMES CLOSE TO THE PLAYOFFS. THIS GUY IS THE REASON THE LEAGUE LOOKS THE WAY IT DOES, HE MEANS MORE TO BASKETBALL THAN HOW THEY TREATING HIM (MY OPINION)

  1. Don’t sleep on the Clippers though J.D.!! I know, I know history hasn’t been kind to them but they are loaded w/ big men (Kaman, Camby, the new rookie Griffin) plus B.D. and A.I. in the backcourt they might be able to sneak in at the 7th or 8th spot..disappointing A.I. may never get a ring but the Clippers ain’t gonna be the laughingstock of the league too much longer in the future

  2. A.I would b a nice thing to see in Cleveland, Orlando, Lakers or Miami.

A.I should b in the top teams of NBA

  3. You’d hope he’d make a sensable decision…but the mighty dollar will make some do things that scratch your head and say ….WHAT???????

  4. It’s all about the Benjamins!

  5. As everyone keeps mentioning its all about the $$$$, and that is the problem. AI’s attitude and greed is what has killed him a la Stephan Maurbury. Don’t use the recession as an excuse either the man is a multimillionaire. These guys are seen as selfish individuals and in the days of the nba where you need a team to win, you don’t want to take your chance on a fading ball hog. Yeah I said it. They guy is not willing to come off the bench for a contender because he must be a starter due to his ego. Maybe if he really wants to start he should go to the Bobcats, Thunder, Grizzlies, or Timberwolves, but they don’t have the money to pay him nor are they anywhere near being a contender. If you don’t believe what I have said look at what happened when Devnver got rid of him for Chauncy. Denver went to the west finals and Detroit went home in a weak East Divison (swept by Cleveland) with some of the records the east teams would not have made the playoffs if they were out west, 48-34 worst record out west. The following teams fell below the 8th seed record for the west and made the playoffs in the east (seeds 4-8 Atlanta, Miami, Philly, Chicago (my home town) and Detroit (had Iverson).) AI is a great player, but he is not the guy that can lead you to a title. He is more of the guy that can lead you away from a title because he needs to be satisfied all the time. Clips can be a playoff contender with the right peeps and good health, but everyone needs to play for the team instead of themselves. Some may agree and some may not but I hope this fosters more discussion.

  6. Mike i totally agree is all ways about the money not basketball .

  7. a.i. will start in L.A. They will have a decent startin 5, but probably won’t make the playoffs in the west. I think he should go back to Philly to finish out his career cuz Iguodala can play the 3. Its unfortunate whats going on wit a.i. but he has to accept some of the blame for his attitude last season. a.i. needs the ball in his hands alot to be productive and alot of teams feel like that won’t b good for they’re progress. If a.i. was willing to come off the bench he would have way more options but it is what it is…

  8. we been talkin bout this lately allen’s game just doesnt translate in todays n.b.a for the same reasons he didnt get picked to go to beijing are the same reasons championship teams dont want him. kobe changed his game to fit his team because even when he was scoring 81 points in a game and shit we wasnt hanging up no banners. allen iverson is way too selfish to play for a winner period. and j.d who gives a fuck about what the league looks like i just wanna see hoopers niggas done cut they hair a long time ago he was the last one and he still wears nightgown shirts and fuckin parachute jeans i seen the nigga his swag is sooooooo 98 it’s a fuckin shame! I know thats ya boy and all so tell the nigga to step into 2000’s with the rest of us and go practice with CP3 for the summer and get some new millinium game! Oh and get the nigga a fuckin stylist tailor or something he is 34 fucking years old!!!! STEP YOUG GAME UP NIGGA!

  9. To be honest I was hoping to see him here in Memphis, we need a great ball player bad!!!!!!!! I really had to see good players shuffled around and get stuck with a bad team.

  10. Very WEll said MIKE …. JD I’m from Detroit and I worked for the Detroit Shock and A.I. really lost a little respect from me in a sense that although you get hurt you’re still apart of the team. Once he got hurt he stop dressing on the bench and I feel like he doesn’t win because he hasn’t grasp being APART of a team or being and doing whatever the team needs you to be other than a scorer. Right now he’s just a GREAT player ON teams. You can score all the points in the world and get as many touches but you cant win a game or a championship by yourself. It seems as though when he’s out there he doesn’t trust his team. Don’t get me wrong I’ve always loved his game I even emulated him growing up, wore his shoe etc. but sometimes on the outside looking in he looks very selfish. I wish him the best though because if it were not for him the league would not have started to accept players for who they truly are. Regardless of appearance etc.

  11. going to the Clips would be a good look for Iverson…. Baron Davis, Iverson, Al Thornton, Blake Griffin, and Chris Kaman..that’s a good starting lineup imo….

  12. I lost respect for Allen Iverson when he stated that he didn’t need to practice. His team needed him at practice, but he didn’t want to attend. His argument, he was a MVP and didn’t need to practice. What he fails to realize is that basketball is a team sport. Practice isn’t only about him, its about the team. Maybe he could make his teammates better in practice, thus, a better team. Kobe is great because he practices and has elevated his game, always taking it to the next level. We all thought Kobe was great a few years ago, but look at him now.

  13. with Iverson the clippers will have a complete team at every position and one of the top 5 line ups in the NBA the only thing that will keep them out of the playoffs will be chemistry. we have seen what the clippers could do when they had a good team filled with young and old talent back in 2005 when they were a game or 2 away from going to the western conference finals. now they have Marcus Camby and Chris Kaman who are top 10 centers…Baron Davis who is 1 of the top 7 point guards in the league..eric gordan who was one of the top 5 rookies last year..Al Thorton who was one of the top rookies the year before..and Blake Griffin who will most likely be atleast one of the top 5 rookies for this up n coming season. plus athletic role players like richardson, joran, and jones with the suns falling off the clippers have a chance to make it to the playoffs with or without iverson the grizzlies cant say that

    MJ KILLIN’ THE SALES CHARTS….CRAZY!!!

  15. I do agree that Iverson was very important to the league because he represented the “hip hop” generation of players. He made people love him for his heart! With his tattoo’s and crownrows he changed the face of the league. Its kind of like how back in the 80’s when Jordan wore the gold chain at the slam dunk contest, I dont really remember the actually event because I was only a child but I look back and see how he was being kind of the 80’s “Nino Brownish” look. I think Iverson is generation X’s answer. I think he should choose to go to Miami before anywhere if he wants to contend yet I dont think it will be that horrible for him to be a Clipper because there team has some good players and drafted a good player they just need some guidence. I think it will be a bigger travesty for him to go to Memphis tho. They suck and they trade away any player that could give them the chance to win.

  16. Ok, I was upset when I first saw the report about Chuck going to theClippers, but they do have B. Davis and the rookie, so they may make some things happen. I would rather see him with D. Wade for sure, but the league is getting younger and he has been in the game since 96′. Yes he needs that ring but alot of teams are scared of taking chance with him. Just like when he went to Denver at first they were scared but they took a chance. @sean psalms shut the hell up, his clothes does not make him a good or bad b.ball player…I since a lil hate in your blood. VA stand up!!! Yes he is arrogant and cocking but that is what the sports media made him from day one. The bad boy of the NBA, jail time, cornrows, tats and a bad attitude. But that still does not take away from his ability to be in the rank of one of the fastest, smallest playersin the NBA. Trust even when he retires he will be remembered. Remember he was the guy and one of the only that crossed over Michael Jordan one of the BEST players in the NBA. So dont get it twisted.

  17. I think that he’s be suited on a Winner Like Orlando, Cleveland, Lakers, Celtics. You are 34 homie. Its going to be hard to get the money he wants.

  18. Point blank, the man would like to start and show he still go it, which he does. If he does come off the bench it will probably be for a team he thinks he can ease out the starting 2 guard for the role later on.

  19. Im with Xcellence on this one.

Iverson needs to shine, and what better team than the clippers for that.

He might be just what that team needs. He will fill the seats as well. The Clippers need the $$$$$!

  20. if u not a true basketball player before your a fan u wouldnt understand! this is a business first, then a sport…”if ur gonna fuck up my business then i dnt want u” thats how owners n coaches think. so if allen cant understand that he is more than likely not gonna start then he wont be playing for a good team!!! he needs to take a pay cut, come off the bench on a championship contender team! he is not the face of the league anymore so teams arent gonna pay him what he would get when he was in philly! its not sad or fucked up wats happenning to him because this is the story of most athletics that are great player but never win a title…but when its all said n done iverson has no one to blame for his situation but him! period! and a lot of these comments were just out right hate! stop hating

  21. NNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! lol

  22. MAN THATS MY TEAM THE LA CLIPPERS….. I STICK TO MY TEAM ALL THE MUTHA FUCKIN WAY WATCH THEM MAKE THE PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR JUST WATCH IM TELING YALL MAN

  23. @ EBO JD said something about “he is responsible for what the league looks like” and if you didnt know a mans apperence says alot about where he is in life his level of maturity as well as his understanding of situations etc. so it is never any hate i like a.i but i dont like niggas that refuse to change and he might be one of them. and all he does is shoot alot alot alot aloooooooooooot!!

  24. what ever team he goes to i hope they make it big been a fan since i was 12 it hurt me when he left philly i just hope if this is true my man takes his team all the way

  25. A.I. to the Clips not a good move…. For the Clippers especially, they already have a small backcourt w/ BD (6’2″) & Gordan (6’3″) as their SG…. I think the Clips are going notion that signing A.I. will help sell more tickets which could be true, but I don’t see signing him as making them a better team…. Not enough shots to go around, both BD & A.I. need the ball to be effective neither are the type of players that will make their teammates better…. Thornton, Gordan, & Griffin were all lotto picks so I’m sure the Clippers want to make sure those guys continue to develope as their core for the future, so all of those guys need plenty of touches which would be a lot more difficult to get if you have two guards taking 20 shots or more each every night…. Adding Iverson definitely doesn’t make them better defensively…. IMO signing A.I. is a huge risk for LA’s other team, but I guess when you’re the Clippers things couldn’t get too much worse…. But as far as A.I. goes, he no doubtedly is is one of the greatest scorers in the history of the game, but @ some point u gotta realize when it’s not your time anymore & you gotta check your ego & lose the “I’m the man” attitude & figure out what’s really important to u….Is it the individualistic shine u want or being remembered as a winner, sacrificing parts of your game in order to make your team better? Seems like A.I. wants to chose to go with the former, rather than the latter, which is why there is no huge demand for his services…. Yes A.I. did change the game in his own way & will be remembered & loved by those whose appreciate what he has done, but sometimes u have to be willing to make a change within yourself for the greater good.

  26. @sean psalms you are right about apperance, I understand completely. But the guys in the league have to have their own minds as well. Yaah he rocked the cornrows, tatts…etc but that also comes with the company you keep. For all players out there, if they have positive people around them and a good woman/man that will be able to guide them, we would even be having this conversation. My bad on telling you to shut the hell up……lol….I just don’t like negative comments about him. Yeah he is from the streets, but he should not bring that to interviews or anything where he is being looked at like a person instead of a b.ball player.

  27. I HATE HIM TO MOVE AROUND THE WAY HE DOES… HE IS TOO GOOD OF A PLAYER TO BE GOING TEAM TO TEAM…

  28. @ MackDolla$ good shit PREACH! @EBO its all good!
