WHEN I TWITTERED THAT THEY WERE PERFORMING PEOPLE STARTED HITTING ME UP FROM ALL OVER THE PLACE LIKE I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THAT. IF YOU KNOW ME AND HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING ME FOREVER THAN YOU KNOW THERE’S NOBODY HIGHER IN MY BOOK THAN TEDDY AND QUINCY JONES PERIOD. WHEN IT COMES TO SOMEBODY KILLIN IT ON BOTHSIDES OF THE FENCE HANDS DOWN TEDDY RILEY IS THE BEST!!!!!!! 1. In September 2007, I went to a concert with Loose Ends, After7, Erykah Badu, and what was billed as Guy. Turns out, it was only Aaron Hall, a lot of people were disappointed, we were looking forward to a flashback concert.

  2. MAN, THAT’S DOPE!!!!

  3. TEDDY JD NOT TERRY, TYPO ERROR I KNOW, I DO THAT ALOT TOO..

  4. music has hope again as long as people dont make them colab with the new crowd that always kills it everytime…..please lets us have more than one flavor of black music again please everything doesnt have to sound alike ….we all know its not because the people ask for one sound its because the powers that be want the publishing of everybody trying…..let music be music again and it will be so so so much fun…then lets support them because its great not because it helps us eat…..trust the people want it all

  5. Yo! You right JD! TR has to be tha dopest! Hands down! On tha real, I “create” full tracks too! How can I send you sumthin?

  9. I feel JD on that, I became a fan when I lived Norfolk and from 90 to 94 and they VA (Tidewater area) on smash. B 4 we use to make that trip southbeach, its was VA Beach for Momerial & Labor day weekends!

  10. You are absolutely right. Quincy Jones and Teddy Riley are incredible. What Teddy Riley did with the New Jack Swing Era was ridiculously amazing! I’m 22 years old and I hardly listen to what get’s released now, I bump that late 80’s and 90’s good music 24-7. Teddy Riley also killed it with Michael with the “Dangerous” album. I play that CD so much I know I’m going to have to buy a couple more copies soon! 😉
It would be great to hear some new music from Blackstreet and Guy. My mom used to play that Blackstreet all the time. Loves it!
“Ooh this is how we roll, in case you didn’t know, Blackstreet is in control” 😉

  11. I am a fan of Teddy Riley and Guy too..remebering my song “Piece of My love” “Goodbye Love”

  12. YEAH TWO OF THE BEST…. I listen to the entire Thriller Album 3 times a week. I have been doing that for that last 3 years. That album is the greatest of all time and that is where I want to be. Look up the history of Thriller and you will learn that when they started that album Quincy said they needed to make an album to save the recording industry, that is funny considering we need that same type of album today..

I never met Teddy Riley but I use to have long conversations with Gene Griffin before he got sick. ( If you never heard of Gene Griffin, he is the one that founded Teddy) We use to talk about Teddy all the time. Teddy hands down is one of the best, I still don’t understand how a dude like that with all them hits could have financial problems, that shit is crazy. I am glad he is coming back, we need him…

PS LIFERS….Think about this….R KELLY stole Arron Halls whole style… I REPEAT R KELLY stole ARRON HALLS whole style. I wonder why nobody ever has said anything about this. Kelly copied the wip and everything… Do your research and you see what I am saying… Arron was the original.

    SPOCK

  13. Okay…I know that Kels and Arron Hall were similar, and noticed it in the early 90’s. HOWEVER, R. Kelly is a genius (he may be a fool too), but the boy is a musical genius. Arron hall is\was famous because of TR, Kelly is famous bc of R. Kelly.

  14. im glad 2 c teddy riley guy n blackstreet back 2gother I think that is mad cool! Teddy is one the best producers n R n B! Much respect 2 them! New Jack Swing 20 y.o later! LOL!

  15. Teddy Riley is the best, can’t wait to here the new album.

  16. I wuld luv 2 see blackstreet yo. It wuld only b my 2nd concert if I went, that is so sad lol and I’m 14. the only concert I’ve been 2 was RockWitchU concert last year n october. So I would b so pressed if I saw them or anyone else. They gunna bring the stage down.

  17. This is some of the best news I could’ve gotten. Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Mz. Dani

  18. That’s wassup. I still got mad luv for Blackstreet. I saw them in concert when they were opening for Mary J on her My Life Tour. Can’t wait to see what Teddy has in store for the music industry.

  19. Damn Damn Damn Damn Damn Damn! I left Atlanta earlier that day and knew nothing about that show… I would have never left. People don’t know how crazy it is for him to put out both groups again. It’s about time!!! Teddy is the best, end of discussion. This gives me hope that we can once again hear more real heart felt music. No dis to the current artist that’s doing their thing and I’m not talking about the wack artist. Maybe, just maybe they will cause a domino effect where artists will and Radio will think about giving it’s listeners a balance in their music. Class is about to be in session when Teddy returns!

  20. THE BOSS IS BACK!!! U CAN’T THINK OF THE NEW JACK SWING ERA WHITOUT MENTIONED BOBBY BROWN!!! SO WHERE ARE U THE KING OF R’N’B….I WANT U BAAAAACCCCK!

  24. This is funny I was listeing to Guy this morning 🙂 They are one of my favorite groups. Im glad to hear Guy and Blackstreet are making new music. I saw them back in 2004 or 2005 After 7, Toni Tone Tony and Blackstreet. It was an excellent show except I wish Guy had more time to perform their classic hits.

  25. real music NEVER DIES!!!!

  26. I always used to swear that in Guy’s song “Piece of my love” that he sings in one line , “U can have a piece of my love…dumb bytch” …anyone else hear it ..if not listen to it again

  27. Guy and Blackstreet are coming back, now thats gonna be hot.

  28. i grew up listening to blackstreet even though i was like 4 and shit lol but any who i think guy had broke when i was born or either after was born i like guy good to see them back

  29. *in a teddy riley voice* YEP! YEP! IT AIN’T OVER! IT AIN’T OVER! Anyhoo, I attended Aaron Halls birthday party back in March. He played his new single in the club. The crowd liked it. Can’t remember the name of it now, I’d have to check my old tweets. I hope it was a sign a NEW new jack swing is on its way. Radio needs it, but the way radio is going now especially here in LA I doubt it would get any play. And just recently on BETJ saw a convo between Dark Child (Rodney Jerkins) and Teddy. Talk about a story never told. Teddy talked about his early days, producing Bobby Brown’s hits while in some little room here in LA. Really good info and insight. Rodney really brought the point home when he told Teddy how he TOTALLY changed the music game back in the late 80s and 90s and thanked him for giving him his start.
